Busy month for Singing River Trail!
- Rails to Trails Conservancy visited Huntsville’s Aldridge Creek Greenway and Limestone County’s Richard Martin Trail as part of Celebrate Trails Day. We were honored to be a part of this nation-wide event!

The SRT Team visited Bridgeport’s River Front Park and met with volunteers spearheading the project. The Park will feature pavilions, RV hookups, primitive camping, and cabins along a beautiful spot on the Tennessee River. The Team also toured the historic River Mont Cave Boy Scout Trail.

The SRT Team also visited Florence’s River Heritage Trail. This 1.3 mile trail connects the trailhead to the Patton Island Overlook, providing residents and visitors with a picturesque pathway to explore the area’s natural beauty. Along the route, interpretive displays highlight the Tennessee River’s rich history, and several overlook points offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

Misti Potter and Anna Clem attended Alabama Mountain Lakes Association’s Picnic on the Lawn in Montgomery. Exciting things are happening for Alabama Tourism and Year of the Trail!

Singing River Trail participated in Innovate Alabama’s Outdoor Recreation Summit at Lake Guntersville State Park.

SRT Launch Tank Competition Winners
After a high-energy day of pitches, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit, the winners of the 2025 Singing River Trail Launch Tank competition have been announced. Hosted at the Scottsboro Civic Center inJackson County, this year’s event featured 9 exceptional entrepreneurs from across North Alabama vying for a share of $27,000 in non-dilutive funding to help accelerate their growth.

First Place ($10,000): Relax and Release Shampoo & Sleep Spa (Madison County)

Second Place ($5,000): Welcome Home Magazine, LLC (Madison County)

Third Place ($3,000): Bare Bottom Farms, LLC (Marshall County)
The finalists presented their small business ideas to a live audience and a panel of local expert judges. Finalists were judged on business viability, innovation, and impact on the North Alabama region.
“This year’s competition was our biggest and most competitive yet,” said Misti Potter, Executive Director of Singing River Trail. “The level of innovation we saw today proves that North Alabama is a rising hub for entrepreneurship. We’re so proud of every finalist and excited to see what’s next for the winners.”
