Our Stories.

No Tricks – Just Treats (and Trails!)

We are making significant strides in providing more outdoor experiences in North Alabama!

Wayfinding Signage Takes Shape

We recently collaborated with the dedicated staff at Wheeler Wildlife Refuge to discuss the types and placements of signage along Arrowhead Landing Road and Rockhouse Bottom Road. These wayfinding signs will improve navigation for visitors and support overall trail experiences. We’re excited to see this initiative come to life!

Engaging Stakeholders in Jackson County

SRT staff are hard at work planning future stakeholder meetings in Jackson County to discuss the Draft Master Plan. Recently, we met with Woodville’s mayor, Steve Helms, and Woodville Librarian, Alyssa Cosby. These discussions are crucial as we continue to connect with community leaders across the county to finalize our Master Plan.

Phase Zero Grants Supporting Local Projects

Earlier this year, in partnership with Innovate Alabama, we distributed Phase Zero Grants to support beautification projects, trail repairs, and essential trail amenities like bike racks, benches, and bike repair stands. We’re thrilled to announce that Courtland has recently installed its bike rack. Stay tuned for updates on more projects as they’re completed!

Leadership Updates

Katie Lee recently shared exciting progress updates about the Singing River Trail with the Morgan County Excellence in Leadership Class. We’re eager to see the positive impact this class will have in Morgan County and the broader community!

New Bike Repair Stations

In a fantastic partnership with HUBS Coop, we’re ordering bike repair stations for local trails and parks, including Ditto Landing and Rhodes Ferry Park. If your organization is interested in purchasing one of these stations, please reach out to Katie at [email protected]

Save the Date: Launch Tank 2025!

Mark your calendars for Launch Tank 2025, set to take place in Jackson County on April 29, 2025. This event will be an incredible opportunity for innovation and community engagement, so be sure to join us!

We’re grateful to have been a beneficiary of the 2024 Singing River Smoke-O-Rama Charity BBQ Contest, hosted by the Singing River BBQ Buddies. Your support is vital to the continued growth and success of the Singing River Trail!

The Trail is Now

Find the Singing River Trail at Ditto Landing. The trail follows the river for just over 1 mile and provides a beautiful view of the Tennessee River. Get outside and explore this trail this football season! Before you sit down on the weekend to watch your favorite team, or tailgate before the game, get outside and TRAILgate! Walk, hike, or bike the Ditto Landing trail, snap a pic, and tag us in it! Bonus points if you’re repping your team colors! #trailgatewithSRT
