The Trail is Now in Bridgeport
We are…
Regional collaboration… economic development… entrepreneurship… recreation… tourism… opportunity…
Yes, Singing River Trail is all of these things. But what makes SRT special?
People – Every single person makes SRT what it is and what it will be in the future. People from all 8 counties, people who use the trail, people who build the trail. It takes all of us working together to make North Alabama the best place to live, work, and explore!

SRT’s Bridgeport Trail.
You can now find the Singing River Trail on Bridgeport’s Historic Walking Trail. The trail begins at the Bridgeport Depot Museum and leads to the Tennessee River. Once at the shoreline, walk across the Tennessee River on a converted railroad bridge. An active railroad bridge runs parallel to the pedestrian bridge. Stop and enjoy the river traffic below. You can also visit the historic museum before and after your walk!
Singing River Trail 10k & 5k.
The second annual Singing River Trail 10k and 5k, benefitting the Singing River Trail will be held Saturday, August 31, 2024. Not up for a run that day? Come cheer on the runners and meet some new SRT friends!
The races start and finish at the Singing River House in beautiful Mooresville, AL. The courses are packed dirt/gravel roads, taking runners through 1818 Farms to the river and back. The trees provide a nice canopy for the runners, which is a great change from the wide-open roads.
This is an excellent event for all runners! The course is forgiving, there is no time limit, and you will be encouraged along the way. Run the 10k, 5k, or both. The 10k starts at 7 a.m., and the 5k starts at 8:30 a.m.
This race is in conjunction with the Blue Heron Hundreds, which consists of a 100 miler, 100km, 40 mile, and marathon.
