Misti Potter
Hi, I’m Misti. With over 27 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, I’ve focused my career on driving organizational growth, building strong community connections, and creating meaningful, lasting change. My journey started in North Alabama and has taken me across Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas, where I’ve had the honor of working alongside incredible teams and boards to develop award-winning initiatives and secure funding for youth development, social services, as well as facility/campus and recreational sports construction projects.
As a proud 5th-generation Texan, my educational path began with a basketball scholarship to Bevill State Community College, and I later earned my degree from Athens State University in Athens, AL. Today, I’m excited to work with the Singing River Trail team and board of directors to bring together eight counties and countless stakeholders, collaborating on fundraising and master planning to connect over 200 miles of greenways and trails across North Alabama.
Being a cancer survivor has taught me the importance of living a life filled with gratitude, balance, and joy. Outside of work, I love traveling with my husband and teenage son, catching up with my oldest son, and spending time outdoors—whether it’s fishing, hiking, or enjoying the beauty of lakes, rivers, and the ocean.
What’s in your trail mix?
Everything is better with CHEESE, and a smidgen of Cayenne Pepper!
Anna Clem
Hi, I’m Anna, the Interim Executive Director of the Singing River Trail. I’m a proud Limestone County native living in Athens with my husband and three kids. I have a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science, have been involved with several local nonprofits as both a board member and staff member, and worked in real estate management and development.
For Singing River Trail, I oversee the operational and administrative arms of the organization, as well as assist with strategic planning and partnerships. In my free time, I love reading, exploring parks with my kids, and spending time with my family on the lake.
What’s in your trail mix?
I’ll take anything in my trail mix as long as there is a healthy portion of chocolate.
Katie Lee
Hi! I’m Katie, and I joined the SRT Team as Operational Coordinator in April 2024. After graduating from Mississippi State University, I worked in retail marketing and as a youth director before moving to the Madison area with my husband and daughter in 2015. I’ve been an instructor and Community Liaison with Fit4Mom Rocket City and recently worked with the Athens Limestone Library Foundation.
I love reading, traveling, and enjoying the outdoors (especially when it’s warm!). I’m thrilled to be part of something that so many people in this community are passionate about — something that benefits residents, visitors, and future North Alabama locals alike!
For SRT, I support operations, write grants, manage our social media accounts, plan events, and make sure everything runs smoothly along the Singing River Trail.
What’s in your trail mix?
Both figuratively and literally – it’s all about balance – hard work and fun, salty and sweet, and always chocolate!
